Hope everyone is enjoying their summer whether away to a cottage or vacations getaways. For those hoping to escape hot humid days or simply wish to find solace with their sewing machine in their happy place please reach out to Outreach for members looking for quilt top kits, please contact Karen Steffens at Outreach.  If you are looking 3-piece quilt bundle kits, batting or backing please contact Penny Philpott at Outreach.

Outreach

Quilting for charity is a beautiful way to give back to the community while practicing the art of patchwork and growing your skills. Through community fabric donations along with the generosity of our members’ skills, the Region of York Quilters Guild have donated countless quilts to our community. The list of recipients for the 2025-2026 year are:




Outreach is truly grateful to our members for their quilting expertise and the time donated in completing tops and finished quilts for the Region of York community.

For anyone looking for quilt top kits or 3-piece quilt kits, batting or backing please email at Outreach and either Karen or Penny will respond. 

Finished quilts can be provided to Outreach at any in person meeting or by sending an email to Outreach. Penny or Karen will respond to coordinate receiving your finished quilt(s).


WHEELCHAIR QUILT PATTERN: for the pattern click Wheelchair Quilt Pattern

Approx. sizing 32”-36” wide by 36” long. Wheelchair lap quilts should ideally be no wider than 36” so they do not catch in the wheels.



HUG/BED JACKETS:  for the pattern click Hug Pattern.  Flannel fabric is recommended to be used for the backing with no batting (to minimize weight and bulk).  If Flannel fabric is required please email Outreach and either Karen or Penny will respond to make arrangements for pickup/delivery.


NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Incubator covers: approx. sizing 18”x22”. Using only 2 layers, no batting, with a top and a flannel backing.  The covers are used on top of the incubator to shield the baby from the bright lights and add a personal touch in a clinical setting. 




SMALL QUILTS for Children Approx .sizing 36”x 45”. 





LAP QUILTS: approx. sizing 45”x56”. utilized within the regional hospitals supporting patients undergoing medical treatments. As well as, by organizations within the region supporting families fleeing difficult living situations.

 



TEEN & ADULT QUILTS: Approx. sizing 50”x70”. primarily utilized by long term care facilities and organizations supporting families in need.
