Guild History

Our Origin Story. The Region of York Quilters Guild was established in November 1985 by a small group of women who recognized the need for a quilting association within York Region. The first meeting was held in the Aurora Public Library with 25 people in attendance.  Since 1985, our Guild has grown and continues to grow.

40th Anniversary. 2025 brought the celebration of great 40 years of our Guild.  We celebrated throughout the year culminating in a tea for our members in September 28th, 2025.  During this year our membership was 140 people.

Our Quilt ShowsHeld biennially, the show lets member's talents shine through quilts large and small.  The show attracts visitors from throughout our region and beyond.  The quilts are stunning and the tea room puts on a fabulous spread.  Vendors and a charity raffle round out the offerings.
