Taking a Tumbler

"When I started to explore the tumbler block, it was all about finding interesting layouts for this shape.  But as I continued to play with the blocks, I became more interested in playing with colour, using this block as a tool. The shape of the block encourages your eye to final the angles of the shape, so you have instantly created movement. I ended up making almost 30 tumbler quilts, and realized I had a wonderful way to showcase the evolution of both shape and colour. I approached C&T Publishing and they agreed- and thus Tumbler Quilts: Just One Shape, Endless Possibilities was born.

In my presentation I will show many of the quilts I have made, discuss the ins and outs of publishing a quilt book, and share tips in working with these blocks and colour play. Bet you can’t make just one!
