Cranes O'er Japan
Quilt Show 2005

Machine pieced, Sashiko embroidery, and machine quilted.

This quilt portrays our love of Japan, their culture and their fabrics. Claudette and I had such fun shopping for the right fabrics and working on our quilts together. I chose to use the sashiko stitch (symbolizing rice grains) to quilt and embellish my quilt and to use the machine quilting as a structure to showcase the sashiko embroidery. The cranes symbolize long life.
