Open Thread Bar Workshop

Cost: $35
Kit Fee: $5 (kit includes a Topstitch 90 needle, prewound bobbin of Bottom Line, and the opportunity to play with approximately 12 different lines of thread by Superior. Class notes plus a special 26-page handout are also provided.) Suitable for all skill levels.


Learn how to choose the correct needle, and how to overcome your fear of the tension dial. We'll discuss the properties of the different threads available today so that you can make an
informed decision when choosing thread.


Various machine applications will be covered, such as -
straight stitch, free motion, decorative embroidery, both raw
edge decorative and invisible applique. Learn some nifty
techniques using fusible and water soluble threads.


At the end of the day you will have a new perspective on
threads and your own sampler as future reference.

Program - Workshops

 

The Region of York Quilters Guild schedules several workshops throught the Guild year. They assist members in developing new skills and techniques and/or perfecting skills from any level - entry to expert.

 

Upcoming workshops are announced at our regular monthly meetings, on this web page and are also included in our online calendar. Registration takes place at our monthly meetings and fees are payable upon registration to secure your spot. Non-Guild members may participate in workshops if space is available at an additional cost. Refunds will only be given if the class is cancelled, you have a family emergency or if your spot is filled by another participant. 

 

A supply list is provided prior to the date of the workshop. Coffee and tea are provided, but attendees must bring their own lunch.
