The Beehive!

This year we are trying out a few new monthly projects and we will give the traditional Block of the Month program a break. Hopefully you'll be interested to take part in at least one of these new projects!

The Charm Swap project will help you build your stash, one colour at a time. You can take part each month or
select whatever month you're interested in. You do not need to sign up – just take part whenever you wish. Each
month you'll receive 48 – 5" squares of fabric to use as you'd like. Make a quilt from these squares, use them for
applique or build your stash – it's entirely up to you. On the left you can see an example of how these Charm Squares can be used to make a Disappearing 4 Patch quilt. You can also click on Charm Square Quilts – pattern ideas & useful links to see other options!

The Nine Patch Challenge is a project where you'll exchange blocks each month with members of your group.
You'll need to commit for the entire guild year and you'll need to sign-up ahead of time. Each month you'll
receive blocks from your group members and at the end of the year, you'll all end up with the identical blocks.
The challenge is to use all the blocks in a project of your choice. The results will be fabulous!

Are you ready to set your unfinished blocks into a
design of your own? The importance of balance in a
quilt‟s visual space, how to keep it simple when
decoding the math and some basic rules of thumb of
quilt designing are key to Sherri Hisey's distinctive style – there is always a way to process your creative thoughts and
ideas into a finished project - just let your imagination
soar!
Sherri will be running a Challenge project for
you. So get those old projects out of the closet and
finished up so there are no excuses not to join in on
this one, you are going to love it!

Have fun!
